Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Grounded in Gold. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Scope of the service

Grounded in Gold is an educational planning tool for traders working through their own risk maths. It is not financial advice, regulated investment service, broker, signal provider, or managed account. See the Disclaimer displayed inside the app and our Privacy Policy for more detail.

2. Eligibility

To use Grounded in Gold you must be:

At least 18 years old
Legally able to enter into a contract under the laws of your jurisdiction
Not currently barred from using the service (e.g. by a previous account suspension)

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

Keeping your password confidential
Anything done from your account
Ensuring the data you enter (display name, trading inputs, community posts) is accurate, lawful, and yours to share

You must notify us immediately at billy@builtbybilly.uk if you suspect your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Scrape, copy, or systematically download Grounded in Gold content beyond what is needed for personal use
Reverse-engineer the app or attempt to access non-public endpoints
Impersonate another user, employee, or affiliated person
Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes intellectual property
Use the service to plan, recommend, or advertise unregulated financial products to others
Submit signals, copy-trades, or pump-and-dump promotions through the community surface
Run automated tools (bots, scrapers, load testers) without prior written consent
Bypass rate limits, abuse the password reset flow, or otherwise interfere with normal service operation

5. Intellectual property

The Grounded in Gold app — including the planner maths, UI, copy, and design tokens — is the intellectual property of Built By Billy. You retain ownership of content you create (community posts, comments, your trading inputs). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and back up your content as necessary to operate the service. We will not sell your content, train AI models on it, or share it for marketing.

6. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

Grounded in Gold is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
We are not liable for losses arising from your trading decisions, broker outages, or data errors in third-party systems
Our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at £100 or the total fees you have paid us in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g. liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraudulent misrepresentation).

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to other users or the service itself. Where reasonably possible we will notify you first and give you a chance to cure the breach.

You may delete your account at any time via the in-app "Delete account" flow. Deletion is irreversible.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Grounded in Gold shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer- protection rights you may have under your local law.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated via the disclaimer modal — you'll need to re-accept before continuing to use the service.
